In some cases, you must undergo a formal substance abuse evaluation to stay enrolled in the Buffalo, NY Drinking Driving Program (DDP) and maintain your conditional license.
You may be referred for evaluation based on the information you disclose in a written self inventory, or if you request help in dealing with an addiction problem. Referrals may also result from having more than one DWI or DWAI in a ten year span, being arrested for a DWI or DWAI while enrolled in the DDP, or attending class under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
If you question the results of your evaluation, you may request a second one; however you must accept its findings. Upon evaluation, it is possible that you will be required to attend and complete a treatment program in the Buffalo area.
Failure to do so will result in the loss of your conditional license and expulsion from the DDP.
