As an experienced Rochester Personal Injury Lawyer, one of the first questions that a person has when they come into the office is how long is my case going to take. They want to know about the personal injury lawsuit timeline and how long they have to wait to receive the compensation they need, and deserve.
One of the things that I tell personal injury clients is, “You know, I honestly don’t know. I can give you some guidelines.” The guidelines are that on the short side, the case could take six months to a year. On the long side, perhaps two to three years. There are so many factors that go into determining how long your case is going to take, and one of those factors is the nature and extent of your injuries. While you can certainly give guidelines on how long someone’s case is going to take, one of the things that you can’t do is you can’t give any assurances or any deadlines of how long it’s going to take before your case ends. Every case is different and dependent on the unique circumstances of the accident.
