Exemptions for Medicaid Eligibility

Rochester Elder Law Attorney Discusses Exemptions for Medicaid EligibilityAs an experienced Rochester Elder Law Attorney, people often ask me about exemptions for medicaid eligibility and whether their real estate will be exempt if they apply for Medicaid in a nursing home setting. There are various protections for family members with real estate. These include transferring the real estate to a spouse, transferring it to a sibling who’s resided there for the past year and has contributed to upkeep of the house, and also to a caregiver child who’s been in the house for at least two years prior to the patient being admitted to the long-term care facility.

Are you trying to apply for Medicaid and want to know more about possible exemptions for medicaid eligibility?  If so, contact Rochester Elder Law Attorney Robert Friedman for a legal consultation.
